Philippine Tropical Fabrics Day Today

January 24, 2011, has been declared as Philippine Tropical Fabrics Day to promote public awareness and use of indigenous textiles in the country. The government is urging textile and garments manufacturers, associations, and institutions to give their full support in the local production and use of local tropical fabrics. Indigenous materials are in demand in the local and international fashion scene as some clothing line makers look for exquisite materials for their designs. Full read here.
