I ordered a book having “mirrors” as the main topic, we’ll post page capture (and/or share something about) of the “book of mirror” as soon as we get it. Meanwhile, this post is something about mirrors as well…

Giving style and function, one of the most used elements in home decor is the mirror. Not only we can use mirror for practical purposes, like for gaining pogi/ganda points, but it also has aesthetic effects. Using unique or even the simplest form of mirror gives a bigger space, an illusion of expansion. How it works? By incorporating mirror to small area like a 30 sqm condo, it can turn the space to 60 sqm. OK, not exactly double the area but you know what I mean.

(But watch the video below, expert says mirrors doubles the space! Amazing!  I’m right. Double!)

With its reflective properties, it adds light to brighten up the room even more. Interior lighting can therefore be enhanced with the use of mirrors. A sense of airiness is achieved, a cheery brightener in fact. Placing a lit lamp in front of mirror, the reflected light and the mood it makes it almost magical. How it works? In the future, if you promised your wife that you’ll be home by 8pm, and you went home like 10pm…  Try this…  Assuming you have well placed and well-lighted wall or floor mirror, turn it on, it will lighten-up the mood and cheer her up. Ok, this isn’t guaranteed.

Mirrors can act as an artwork replacement. Placed on top of a console table or living room wall and decent accent lighting, the mirror can create a constantly changing  image. On its own, mirrors can be decorative element too as shown with the mirror collection above.

Sometimes, try to get away with the straight lined mirrors that are rectangles and squares. Rounded ones and a play with different shapes in the framing might do the trick. It can give an even more graceful touch. Check out the the two samples below:
