Home accents exporters to sustain aggressive marketing

Home accents exporters will continue to aggressively market their products abroad and offer innovative product designs to sustain revenue growth in the next few years.
Jason Tan, the incoming president of the Home Accents Group of the Philippines, Inc. (HAPI), said they will participate in a number of local and overseas trade fairs until next year which are the Ambiente Show in Frankfurt, Hong Kong Houseware Fair, Hong Kong Gifts and Premium, Tendence Show in Frankfurt, Hong Kong Mega Shows and Manila FAME Shows.
Tan said product design and development seminars are now being held to prepare the exporters for the October shows.
Other upcoming projects of the group include the tree planting in cooperation with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and marketing collateral in preparation for next year’s trade shows.
The tree planting activity is part of the government’s program meant to involve the participation of volunteers in environmental activities.
“HAPI recognizes that climate change is a global issue and therefore shall be the concern of everyone and that planting/growing trees is one way of mitigating its effects,” noted Tan.
He said the association, which is celebrating its 17th anniversary this September 29 at the Manila Polo Club, has gone a long way with several successful projects implemented.
Tan said these also include selling missions and international trade fairs participation in other countries like the United States, Middle East, Europe, Singapore and Japan, fellowships and fund raising projects for a good cause.
Luis Sicat, the association’s founder and chairman of the board, said highlights of the anniversary event are the oath taking ceremony of the group’s 9th president, networking and fellowship with other business support organizations and government agencies, and a night of thanksgiving celebration.
“Amidst the pressing global economic recession, the members of HAPI, with its working board of trustees, past and present, we were able to sustain the existence of HAPI as an organization. At the same time, we were able to position ourselves as a reliable source of quality products and services with the entrepreneurial spirit as contributors to the export industry,” he noted.
Sicat said the event would be also an opportunity for the exporters to thank their partners, which will be the guests of the night, for their valuable funding and technical support that cushioned the impact of recession to all the small and medium enterprises.
These enabled them to continue to promote and showcase the creativity, innovation and ingenuity of the Filipinos, he said.
HAPI represents exporters of home style products such as furniture, home décor accessories, lighting, wall décor, rugs and carpets, botanicals, garden accessories and all other items which are uniquely and creatively designed home accent pieces with distinct competitive advantage, he added.
