The PANDAY PIRA Founding Anniversary – 23 anyos

Panday Pira (Pandayan ng Pilipinong Kultura), originally a PUP based visual-arts organization from 1987-1996 had transcended into a multi-discipline group involving music, performing arts, literature and “experimental collaborative art”.
Twenty three years after its founding anniversary, the pillars of the group including ‘Mykpinta’ Quiñones (Asian Pacific Group) and Ismit Mendez (Manila Standard Today) collaborated with the later generations of the group to hold an event dubbed as: 23 anyos: The Panday Pira Founding Anniversary held last August 14, 2010 at the 3F Citylife Bldg., Araneta Ave. cor. Quezon Ave., Quezon City. Instantly a lot of former members had responded to the calling. Former members who are now into theater arts, literature, tv production, advertising, music and other professional services affirmed their attendance. Former chairmen of the group were also present including: Boyet De Mesa, Tado Jimenez and Judith Orapa while Joegenes Santos (New member of Foyer Gallery-Canada) and Bimbo Nemeño (Horizon Draftfcb) sent their inspirational messages.
The Panday Pira Band together with other guest band performers added spice in the night as the venue rocks with more than 80 attendees.
The group’s “Instant Mural” signature performance was the highlight of the event when the group collectively paints the canvass while the band plays and an interpretative dancer moves.
