Nateco launches a new website dedicated solely to uniquely designed furniture and furniture accessories that abides by the principals of sustainability which includes using such materials as recycled and recyclable metal such as stainless steel, certified woods, natural materials such as bamboo, carb compliant wood composites, non toxic glues, and water based stains.
Nateco consists of designers and wholesalers who have been involved in the furniture business for over 30 years and who have decided to set up a furniture retail website in order to reach the consumer directly with great design at an affordable price. At the same time it was also decided that Nateco should make a more concerted effort to promote within its production lines such sustainable practices that assure a better environment for future generations to come. It must prevent the further depletion of all forests (not just rainforests!). Forest management such as or reforestation is essential. The methods of production that aid to further air or water pollution must be limited and eventually eliminated over time. In production Nateco is now more conscious of those toxic materials in production (such as glues) or even packing (such as Styrofoam) that do not decompose and only add to the already overfilled landfills.
At present this company, Nateco, is a student, learning and improving on its future product decisions. The company has already eliminated such processing as chrome plating and the use of polyresins or toxic glues and paints in production, both contributors to air and water pollution. This is evident in the Easy Rider line of upholstered chairs. With the home office line called Pisa , Nateco uses carb compliant wood composite and in future production the use of of recycled paper. As a member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council , Nateco is learning about what woods to avoid because of its possible extinction as well getting certification for the woods used in production, assuring that forest management or replanting is involved. At the company’s current design stage Nateco is making a concerted effort to work with bamboo, a plant that grows quite quickly and easily, with the introduction of the Breeze line of Audio Visual units, desks, occasional tables, and shelving .
The company has a big challenge ahead of it but challenges make life exciting! The challenge is to maintain these concepts in the future development of Nateco’s products. The end goal for Nateco is to have products that are both acceptable in design and cost to the end user while making them aware of the company’s decision towards producing only truly sustainable products.
